A Note From our Founder on Cancer Awareness

October 01, 2019 2 min read 1 Comment

Cancer awareness has been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl. As a childhood leukemia survivor, I am one of the lucky ones to still be here, and grateful every day to have received a second chance to live my best life. I have so much gratitude for this every single day, and am most grateful for my doctors, my family, and cancer researchers for saving my life. Even though I was only 2 years old when I was diagnosed and remember very little from my treatment, I hear stories from my mom that are unimaginable to be enduring as a parent and a caregiver.

But some aren’t so lucky. We have to honor those who lost their battle with cancer and we must do everything possible to find a cure. Every year since I was a little girl, I have supported cancer research, whether volunteering my time or contributing financially. I strongly encourage everyone to do the same.

Today starts Breast Cancer Awareness Month, giving me an opportunity to reflect on how breast cancer has affected so many of my friends and family, fellow entrepreneurs, celebrities, and more than 250,000 women each year. It has left children without mothers, brothers without sisters, friends without friends, and unimaginable physical and mental scars. Breast cancer’s impact seems to extend infinitely beyond the patient and the caregiver.

This month, I am so proud to announce that KUSSHI is running our first campaign to help fight this awful disease affecting so many women and men around the world. During the month of October, 20% of proceeds of any of our bags with a pink interior will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF funds research across 14 countries and 5 continents to help find a cure. All you have to do is place an order for any of our pink interior bags and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to BCRF. You get a brand new beautiful makeup bag, and BCRF receives much-needed funds to further accelerate the search for a cure. Not looking for a new makeup bag? We still encourage you to donate to BCRF, or find a way to volunteer your time to support this cause.

Both our Everyday (small) and Signature (medium) size makeup bags are available with pink interiors. Here are some quick links:

I’m interested in the leather cosmetic bags but I only see the cloth one. Can you tell me how I can order the leather bags?
Thank you

We know, the Hudson River Valley in the fall. Groundbreaking. But when the temperature dips there’s good reason the bucolic region gets so much attention.
